Although billed as a club night the evening turned out to be a special thank you to Martin Key in celebration of his 2 years as President.This was a complete surprise to Martin who knew nothing about it until he entered the clubroom to be greeted by about 60 members and guests – including his wife Bernadette who had managed to keep it a secret from him for several weeks. His brother Roger from Denmark Mark also attended. After an introduction from President Mick McCreath and response from Martin, Mark Traversoni managed to persuade Martin to choose the prize of a meal for two at Martin’s favourite restaurant from a choice of 4 envelopes (a gift members had collected for). The evening continued with food and chat followed by a brilliant special performance from Tony Rix. Tony was his usual rib-tickling self laced with some amazing magic including vanishing ring to gumball machine, no- tear newspaper restoration, Gift of Time prediction, and a very funny card sword routine. An excellent evening all round with many thanks to Mick McCreath who organised it. |
