Several members of the Society headed towards Nuneaton on a cold and snowy night to entertain members and guests of the Coventry Magic Circle.Matthew Redmond started the show with Jumbo B’Wave and a ball prediction based on a Mark Worgan idea. Ivor Williamson had everyone laughing with his crazy act which included stabbing himself in the face with a skewer and finding a very large stone in his shoe. Paul Kybert finished off the second half with a whirlwind act which included a very funny rope routine with a young girl and a wonder-box using 6-card-repeat type patter. After the buffet Martin Key donned his mind-reading turban to perform Osterlind’s Bank-Night, a number prediction, Confabulation, Fogel’s Second Spot and Chuck Hickok’s book test routine. Cliff Daniel carried on the mental theme with a card prediction and his version of Wayne Dobson’s Smash and Stab whilst Andrew Hague did some interesting card effects. New member Jonathan Lovett finished the evening with an ESP prediction trick and his signature effect – an amazing Cups and Balls routine. The evening was MC’d by Vice-President Mick McCreath with his usual crop of funny stories. Later in the year we will be having a reciprocal visit from the Coventry Club. |
